Tomorrow is the Shortest Day
I've been absent from blogland for a few weeks, quite busy with family and work duties. But I have missed this space and the community between friends.
Every year I have a Christmas conflict within myself. It has to do with how to celebrate, how to decorate, how to give, how to remember the poor, how to not be COMPLETELY ridiculous in our extravagance and wealth. It paralyzes me, and keeps me from writing. This happened to me last year, as well, as you'll see in this post. Maybe next year I'll have it figured out.
For now, I'm joining the Gratitude Community in listing the gifts of the Father.

This is a gratuitous picture of Christmas cuteness at church. |

O come Thou rod of Jesse
Free Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave!

Amen to #1092 ... my three kids selected their Compassion kids today, and it caused great excitement around the table. I loved that, especially because of the dilemma you cited -- easy to be caught up in our own desires and the temporary enjoyment of riches. So thankful that we can lay up treasures in Heaven, even when it's a fight to do so!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you Kit--blog world has missed you! Praise God for words and The Word made flesh. Love #1097. Wishing ridiculous joy to you and your family.
